Tilta is now shipping a camera cage and kits for the Z Cam E2 in their Tiltaing line. The cage is available standalone as well as in three kit configurations.
The Z Cam is growing in popularity, Erik has previously done a full review of the Z Cam E2.
Z Cam has taken a similar approach to RED, by releasing a single camera design with different internals. This means camera accessory manufacturers can create a single line of accessories that is compatible with all of their cameras.
At NAB 2019, Z Cam announced the Z Cam E2-F6 & E2-F8 full frame, 6K & 8K versions which are set to ship in October and just last week, Z Cam announce the E2C which is a stripped-down version of the E2 at only $799 USD which can record 4K 10-bit.
The cage is part of the Tiltaing line and uses some of the same components from their BMPCC 4K cage, such as the top handle, baseplates, side handles and other brackets like the Samsung T5 holder.
The cage adds a host of tapped holes in 1/4″, 3/8″, ARRI accessory mounts as well two ARRI rosettes, one on each side. Manfrotto or Arca Swiss compatible baseplate can be mounted onto the bottom to add quick release capability. The standalone Tiltaing Z Cam cage retails for $129 USD.
