Tamron has announced three new full-frame lenses which we were able to take a closer look at during CP+. The lenses are SP 35mm F1.4 Di USD, 35-150mm F2.8-4 Di VC OSD for DSLRs in Nikon F & Canon EF mounts, and an ultra-wide 17-28mm F2.8 Di III RXD in Sony E-mount. This is the first look so the complete specifications or pricing has been announced.
Fast compact Portrait Zoom: 35-150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD (Model A043)
Available in Nikon F & Canon EF mount, the 35-150mm lens offers a fast but variable F/2.8-4 aperture making it a versatile lens. It has a minimum focus distance of 17.7″ (44.9cm) across the entire zoom range. It has a low dispersion glass element as well as an aspherical lens to minimise chromatic aberrations.
Out of the three new lenses, it is the only one to offer image stabilisation with Tamron’s VC technology.

SP 35mm F/1.4 Di USD (Model F045)
Next up is the SP 35mm F1.4 Di USD lens. A standard focal length with a fast open aperture, the lens will be available in Nikon F & Canon EF mount. It uses a ring-type USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor for fast, precise, and quiet autofocus performance that benefits both stills and video recording. This motor also enables full-time manual focus control without having to shift into a dedicated MF mode.

High-speed ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for Sony E-mount: 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A046)
Finally, we have an ultra-wide zoom lens for Sony E-mount. It doesn’t offer as much range as other wide-angle zoom lenses like the 16-35mm GM from Sony but it is much more compact and lightweight. The Model A046’s AF drive system is powered by the RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit offers fast, high-precision & quiet AF for photo & video.
