The SmallHD Focus SDI is a new version of the company’s hugely popular Focus monitor – this time outfitted with a locking BNC connector rather than an HDMI port.
The monitor itself is a 5.5″, 800nit panel that comes with a tilt arm to mount on your camera and is powered by Sony L series batteries. Really the only difference from the earlier model is the SDI connectivity that will allow it to interface more reliably with fancier cameras.
The OLED version swaps in an OLED panel which sacrifices brightness – it’s 350nits – for a wider colour gamut so you can “trust the colour you’re seeing.”
SmallHD Focus SDI price and availability
The two monitors are available now. The Focus SDI is priced at $599 US and the Focus OLED SDI is $799 US. The monitors are also available in kits which feature specific mounting and cabling for cinema cameras or use on a gimbal.
