SHasselblad has released the new XV lens adaptor which adapts the X System mount on the X1D to a V System mount.
This lets you use any of Hasselblad’s full line of C, CB, CF, CFI, CFE, F and FE lenses & accessories. Over sixty lenses ranging from 30 to 500mm are available in these lines.
Currently, the XCD line of lenses only consists of five prime lenses so this certainly opens up the X1D-50c to more lens options.
One main thing to note is that when you are using an adapted lens, only the X1D-50c electronic shutter is used.
The XV Lens Adapter is available for USD $249.
There is also the previously released XH & XPan Lens adaptors
Medium Format Video
We are currently in a trend of large format sensors but the X1D features a medium format sensor and can record video at 1080p up to 25 fps and the H6D-100C can shoot UHD 4K. Duclos Lenses has already shown what is capable with PL mount adaptors and Alpa from Switzerland has also shown a number of products tailored to shooting video on large format cameras. So, are you going to skip large format and go straight to medium format 😉
