Smartsystem has released the Matrix R2 Sled designed specifically for operating the DJI Ronin 2 in a hybrid steadycam set up. It has a telescopic carbon fiber post that can go from 530mm (20.86″) to 940mm (37″) and has toolless adjustment.
The Matrix R2 Sled features integrated wiring for power distribution from the bottom of the sled and also comes with the recently introduced SmartCAM Horizon that keeps the monitor’s horizon level when operating the steadycam.
The Matrix R2 Sled comes with the YAW locker to securely lock off the pan motor and has a quick release to receive the Ronin 2. A tilt-able battery plate lets you position the batteries for optimal balance.
If you want to operate a traditional style steadycam, the Matrix R2 sled can be reconfigured to the standard SmartSystem sled.
The Matrix R2 Sled is available and shipping now at a retail price of $9,509.95. This will be in addition to the cost of the DJI Ronin 2.
