Peer-to-peer gear rental site ShareGrid has launched ShareGrid PRO aiming to simplify the process of finding and managing gear for larger productions with rental houses.
Peer-to-peer gear rental has increased the availability of camera packages while also reduced the day rate as more owners compete with each other. In an interesting partnership, ShareGrid and rental houses have come together in ShareGrid PRO.
ShareGrid PRO works in a bidding system where approved rental houses bid for different jobs submitted by users. These quotes are free to create but have a minimum spend of $2,000.
Project managers are able to submit gear requests which turn into a project dashboard to manage returned bids, inquire with rental agents, update requests and book the gear. On payment, you can even add-on insurance cover.
Just like the regular ShareGrid, the service is community driven by ratings and customer feedback.
