The MindShift Gear PhotoCross range of sling bags have been built to withstand the toughest of elements. The PhotoCross series feature weatherproof zippers and abrasion-resistant materials. The sling bag design allows the bag to stay out of the way when you are working, but it also has the added benefit of being easily accessible when you need to grab your equipment.
The problem with backpacks in run and gun situations is you need to take it off your back to access the equipment you need, with a sling you can just swing it around the front while you are still moving. For covering protests or breaking news a sling bag makes a lot of sense.
The PhotoCross comes in two sizes and colors, Orange Ember and Carbon Grey. The PhotoCross 10 fits an ungripped DSLR and one to two lenses, plus a 10” tablet, or a mirrorless body and three to five lenses, plus a 10” tablet. The PhotoCross 13 fits an ungripped DSLR, two to four lenses, including a 70–200mm f/2.8, and some 13” laptops. With removable dividers you could easily use this bag to carry around smaller digital cinema cameras like a Canon C100 or Sony FS5.
The bags can also accomodate a one litre water bottle and there is a built-in carrying solution for small tripods or jackets.
