With the Panasonic GH5 set to start shipping later this month, we are starting to see more and more companies releasing cage solutions for the camera. Our sister site Photo Gear News tipped us off about this latest offering from CAME-TV, whose have gone with a simplistic design that looks to offer easy accessibility to all the camera controls, LCD screen, battery compartment, and memory card slot.
The top handle is tool-less and can be taken off or put back on quickly. Being able to remove it is always handy when travelling, as having a fixed handle always makes packing trickier. The base plate has 15mm rod holes for mounting follow focus units and other accessories such as matte boxes. The GH5 rig is made out of CNC machined aluminium. There looks to be lots of threaded holes on the cage, which is alway handy for adding accessories.
Included on the CAME-TV GH5 cage, are two cold-shoe mounts, one on the cage and another on the handle.
