ProMediaGear were at the Photokina show in Cologne with a new cage. It is a universal design that will fit practically all compact system cameras and most DSLRs.
The height of the cage can be adjusted to suit the camera body. The handle has a unique method for mounting multiple devices to it by using a circle of cold shoes. This could be very useful if you want to use several wireless microphone receivers, lights and mics.
The side of the cage has a useful NATO rail which can be used to mount EVFs or monitors. The base of the cage as ProMediaGear’s quick release system which is also versatile.
One thing to note is that the top part of the cage attaches to the hotshoe, which does mean that audio adapters like the Sony XLR-K2M can’t be easily used.
