At the IBC Show in Amsterdam, I talked to Andre from X-Rite about the companies i1Display Pro. The i1 Display Pro provides a way to get colour accuracy for all of your screens, including mobile devices and projectors. Properly profiling and calibrating your displays ensures reduced colour correction time and a more realistic representation of your final output.
Every brand of monitor has its colour naturally drift over time. This is why monitor calibration is so important. Knowing this, Atomos have partnered with X-Rite to give users of their products access to a professional monitor calibration system. This allows the end user to make judgments on colour and luminance in the field. What you are seeing in the field can then be exactly replicated back on your edit screen. The same X-Rite model used in the field can also be used to calibrate monitors in the editing suite. The i1DisplayPro will work with the Atomos Inferno, Studio, Flame, and Blade series of monitor/recorders.
The software that comes with the i1Display Pro can be used to calibrate monitors in a range of colour spaces including, REC.709, Rec.2020, and DCI3 to name a few.
The i1Display Pro features advanced filter and optical systems, a fast measurement speed, and unrivaled color accuracy on all modern display technologies including LED, Plasma, RG Phosphor, OLED & Wide Gamut. It’s also spectrally calibrated, which makes it field upgradeable to support future display technologies. The i1Display Pro incorporates three functions – ambient light measurement, monitor profiling, and projector profiling.
It’s two user modes, Basic and Advanced, provide serious colour Perfectionists with the perfect combination of unrivaled colour precision, speed, options and controls to fit any workflow. You’ll no longer risk spending hours at your monitor perfecting images or video only to find that the display was not accurately representing the digital files.
