Matt Allard talks to David from Came-tv about their new gimbals and crane. The Came Optimus is a hybrid gimbal for DSLR or mirrorless devices that can be operated either with a single handle or double handles. It’s a tool-less design with 360-degree motors, so it can be rotated in all directions, and even inverted without having to reset the device. It also comes with a remote for wireless gimbal control.

The Prodigy gimbal is designed for larger cameras like the Red, Blackmagic, or even the Canon Cinema cameras, of up to 5kg. This is another tool-less design and can be balanced using the latches on the mount. It also features a wireless remote to control the gimbal and comes with a portable stand and hard case.

The retractable crane has a concertina design with an extended length of 4.7 metres and is controlled by a joystick on the handle. It supports a camera and gimbal of up to 15kg, which can then be controlled by the Came remote mounted on the handle. The unit comes with the tripod, wheels and electronics all included, as well as an aluminium carry case.
Pre-orders for the Came Optimus will be available in the next few weeks. The Prodigy will be available in June priced $1,688 US, and the crane is available next week priced $3,400 US.
