The new Sony a6300 is a very capable and affordable camera. While it can be used straight out of the box, if you want to ad multiple accessories then you will need some sort of camera cage. LockCircle are one of the first companies to come out with a solution, the 6300NY. The cage is designed to be as form fitting as possible to allow your right hand to access all the necessary buttons and help maintain a small footprint.
If you want to mount accessories there are 105 1/4”-20 and 4 3/8” mounting holes available. The 6300NY cage also protects the MicroPort micro HDMI / USB connectors by using the popular LockPort Flex (micro to full-size HDMI output), that is found on the Birdcage A7 and A7M2. You can secure the camera baseplate using a 1/4″-20 or 3/8” threads (titaniun camera screw supplied) for mounting the cage to tripods, gimbals or even drones.
The 6300NY cage baseplate has a Meta-Block mount for Metabones and IMS-Block for IMS-Mounts for monolithic locking. This design allows you to use a follow-focus without having any of the annoying mechanical play between the adapter and the lens mount.
LockCircle IMS mounts are available for E-MOUNT to Canon EF/Nikon F (exclusive positive-lock), PL-Mount, Panavision, BNCR, Leica R and Leica M, others mounts will be coming soon.
For those wishing to use the camera for stills and video work, you will be happy to know that the original camera flash that pops out works with the 6300NY cage without any limitations.
The LockCircle 6300NY cage weighs (200gr- 7 o.z.), and has several threads to mount a (AC) tape measurement hook.
