DOP Choice were showing a huge 5′ soft box for the popular BB&S Area 48 remote phosphor light. The five foot soft box offers a double, or single, layer of diffusion and produces a beautifully soft lighting source.
The Area 48 light has been around for some time now and uses remote phosphor technology, which moves the phosphor away from the LED itself, greatly improving colour rendering, consistency and light output. It enables you to get one large light source, instead of the many individual light sources that are associated with regular LED lights. The result is a really nice soft light that seems to wrap around peoples faces.
There is no indication on pricing yet for the 5′ soft box, but it expected to start shipping in around 3 weeks time.
