Aputure were showing a new 7″ full HD HDMI monitor at IBC in Amsterdam. Called the VS 2-Fine, the monitor has a myriad of features including under scan which allows you to see an image that is bigger than what is being recorded. This is very useful when using cameras such as the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera that have the camera information outside of the frame.
The monitor features false colour, histogram, zebras, focus peaking and magnification as well as an array of other functions. It can be powered off a Sony NP series battery or via mains power.
The VS 2-Fine had a very nice display and would be a good solution for those looking for an affordable HDMI monitor at a low price. The monitor is very light weight and would work well on top of cameras such as the Panasonic GH4 or Sony A7 series.
The monitor isn’t shipping just yet, but Aputure told me that it would be priced below $400 US.
