SmallRig has officially announced its new RC 220B Pro LED Video Light. The RC 220 series represents a new generation of COB lighting products and it is built upon the foundation of the RC 220.
It was first shown at IBC 2024 last month.
The fixture is fairly lightweight and compact and it weighs in at 3.64 lb / 1.65 kg.

The RC 220B Pro Bi-Color LED Monolight features a variable color output from 2700 to 6500K. The fixture’s updated lens and light source provide the same output as the original RC 200B but with lower power consumption.
The Pro model also features professional control options including DMX, a control panel, local control, or wirelessly via the SmallRig smartphone app.
It has multiple power methods, including an included V-mount battery adapter, a standard AC power adapter, and an optional L-series battery adapter. The light draws 200W.
For adding softboxes and other light diffusing/shaping tools, the fixture is compatible with standard Bowens accessories.
The upgraded RC 220B Pro features a new optical lens design offering a 10% decrease in power consumption compared to the previous generation while maintaining the same brightness. It also features an updated lens for high brightness, uniform light distribution, and a high color rendering index of 95+. The updated COB light source provides a consistent color temperature, minimizing color deviation within the effective color temperature range.
Another new addition is that the support column now features a damping design.
