At NAB 2024, Jeramy from Atomos showed me the new Sun Dragon rope light. Since then, Atomos has improved the product’s strength and flexibility.
It now comes in two versions: A 16′ strip length soft and hard light. The Sun Dragon is encased in a soft, flexible casing that protects the LEDs and makes them waterproof and flexible, and helps them keep their form.
Sun Dragon is 2000 Lumens with a stated CLI of 99+, a TLCI of 98, and RGBAW for full-color with 5 different colored diodes—red, green, blue, amber, and white. This, combined with Atomos’ electronic control, allows for nearly any hue on the color wheel to be mixed during operation.
The controller has also been updated with Ethernet, and it can be controlled via GigE and WiFi DMX, giving you many options.
