At NAB 2024 in Las Vegas, Vaxis was showing its yet-to-be-announced Thor wireless video system.
What was interesting is that that there isn’t traditional RX and TX units. Both units can be set using a switch on the side to be either a TX or a RX depending on your requirements. At least to my knowledge, this is the first time I have seen stand alone wireless units with this capability. Yes, there have been plenty of wireless monitors that can be used like this, but not individual components.
As an example, you could set both units to be transmitters and put them on two different cameras and send the signals to tablets or smartphones.
The Thor system is being billed as a mid-tier product that bridges the gap between the companies entry level ATOM range and their more expensive Storm system.
Prototype UI 
There is also an upcoming 7″ Thor monitor that can also be used as either a TX or RX. This monitor featured both SDI In/Out and HDMI In/Out. The monitor can also record to SD cards, which is useful for playing back clips on location.
The latency of Thor looked to pretty good, especially for a wireless video system that isn’t sending an uncompressed signal. Thor is a dual band 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz system.
The Thor system can be used as a stand alone system or you can transmit to a smartphone/tablet app as well. Up to two Rx units and two smartphones/tablets can be used at once, or if you are transmitting directly to tablets/smartphones, you can use up to four at once.
Unfortunately the upcoming Thor series is not backward compatible with any of Vaxis’ other wireless offerings.
Price & Availability
The Thor 7″ monitor is expected to retail for around $1,000 USD and the TX/RX units will cost around $1,000-2,000 USD for a pair.
