Tentacle Sync was showing off a prototype of its new Wireless Timecode Slate that utilizes the company’s Timebar. If you own or use Tentacle Sync devices this product will certainly be of interest to you.
It looks to be a clever system where you can screw in a Tentacle Sync Timebar and then the clapper board comes a fully functioning wireless timecode slate.
Having the ability to be able to pull the Timebar out of the clapper board makes a lot of sense and it increases the versatility of the product.
It is lightweight and very easy to use.
Tentacle Sync told me that the internal battery that can be charged via USB-C will last for up to 10 hours with the timecode running continually, but in the real world you are probably likely only going to need to charge it every few days.
Some parts of the Tentacle Sync Wireless Timecode Slate were 3D printed as this is still a prototype.
Price & Availability
The Tentacle Sync Wireless Timecode Slate will be available in two parts. The Timebar retails for $379 USD and the Clapper board (slate) will be around $250 USD. This means you should be able to get the whole kit for around $650 USD, which makes it very affordable.
