Flowcine makers of the Serene and Puppeteer have released test footage of the combination working with the DJI Ronin. A Red Epic with a 40mm lens was used to demonstrate just how steady the combination can be.
A lot of gimbals are still very prone to vertical and side to side movement when you do walking shots. The Serene is a two-axis spring arm that attaches at the end of a Easyrig arm. It stabilizes vibrations and motion errors on the vertical axis that comes from walking or running with the rig. It also stabilizes side to side errors in the same scenarios by counter pivoting around its center axis. At the same time, you have full use of the Easyrig spring extension that will allow you to go from high to low mode while at the same time the Serene will take care of the vertical and side to side stabilization adding two more stabilized axis to your existing system.

The Puppeteer allows a single operator to make smoother tilts upwards and downwards. Essentially an arced rail on runners it is a purely mechanical solution and is quite elegant in its simplicity. It should produce a more fluid movement than can be achieved with the toggle or joystick arrangement on the gimbal’s handgrip.
Could this be the ultimate combination to work in conjunction with your Movi or DJI Ronin? The results from the above video certainly do look very impressive.
