SmallRig has announced its mini L-shaped Mount Plate Kit that was co-designed with Iddo Genuth to help mount camera accessories.
The mini L-shaped Mount Plate Kit was designed to be a compact solution for mounting wireless image transmitters, monitors, V-mount battery plates, etc., flush with or at a 90° angle to your camera.
It features built-in retractable locating pins, and the ability to switch between 1/4”-20 screws and 3/8”-16 screws, allowing the mounting plate to be used on a variety of camera cages, or directly on cameras and other accessories. It is important to note that the spacing of the locating pins means that it is not compatible with SmallHD monitors.
The Mount Plates support four attachment solutions:
- 1/4”-20 threaded hole
- 1/4”-20 locating hole
- 3/8”-16 threaded hole
- ARRI 3/8”-16 locating hole
The plate also features anti-slip silicone pads to protect your camera from scratches and to help create a secure attachment to SmallRig and other cage systems. The aluminum alloy mount plate weighs 32g / 1.1oz and it has a load-bearing capacity of 1.2kg / 2.6lb.

The SmallRig mini L-shaped Mount Plate Kit is now available to purchase for $28.90 USD. The kit includes four 1/4″ to 3/8″ stainless steel threaded adapters, four 1/4″ and 3/8″ screws to ensure total flexibility, a flat screwdriver, and two L-shaped mount plates.
While this looks like an inexpensive product to help mount certain accessories, often you need to have something with a hinge or that is adjustable.
