At Inter BEE last week Japanese company FOR-A were showing a prototype of their latest 4K high frame rate camera. The FT-ONE S cab record up to 360fps in full 4K and is dust and water resistant. Amazingly it was on display in a tank of water. Designed primarily for outside broadcast the FT-ONE S is linked via optical cable back to a base station and can be used at distances up to 1km.
The FT-ONE S is the next evolution of the companies original FT-ONE 4K camera that can record up to 900fps in 4K. The prototype FT-ONE S weighs in at 5.5kg and is less than half the size of the original FT-ONE. The FT-ONE uses a global shutter and CMOS sensor and was used as a super slow motion replay camera for the 2014 Super Bowl. You can still buy the FT-ONE for just under $100,000US.
FOR-A’s ZE-ONE 4K extraction system, which gives users the ability to frame and extract desired 4K image areas for HD replays was also on display.
