Lensbaby Velvet 85mm f/1.8 Lens
A unique short telephoto with distinct classic appeal, the Velvet 85mm f/1.8 from Lensbaby produces a mid-20th century-inspired image quality that is well-suited to portraiture. Characterized by a smooth, glowing aesthetic, this lens’s softness can be controlled by stopping down in order to produce a range of effects from soft and dreamy to sharper and crunchier at smaller apertures. A 12-blade diaphragm also contributes to the lens’s aesthetic, and helps to produce a smooth bokeh quality to suit shallow depth of field imagery. Additionally, the manual focus design affords a working distance of 9.5″ with a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:2 to benefit working with close-up subjects.
The short telephoto portrait-length lens is designed for full-frame cameras, however, it can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 136mm equivalent focal length. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture affords greater control over depth of field for working with shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques, and also benefits working in low-light conditions.
Softness can be controlled by stopping-down the lens: when stopped-down to f/16, the image exhibits a smooth quality with greater central sharpness.

Lensbaby Burnside 35mm f/2.8 Lens
A unique lens characterized by its swirly bokeh, the Burnside 35 from Lensbaby is a 35mm f/2.8 prime. Featuring two separate diaphragms, an extensive amount of control over selective focus and bokeh quality is possible, with the ability to work with large in-focus areas or smaller in-focus areas surrounded by a distinct out-of-focus swirl. The six elements, four groups optical design also contributes to the unique look, and each of the glass elements have been multi-coated to control flare and ghosting in order to realize high contrast and accurate color rendering. In addition to fully manual exposure control, the lens also requires manual focus operation and has a minimum focusing distance of 6″ for working with close-up subjects.
General wide-angle prime is designed for full-frame cameras, however, can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 56mm equivalent focal length. Unique optical design features six multi-coated elements in four groups and is designed to produce imagery with a large area of central sharpness surrounded by distinct, swirly bokeh and pronounced vignetting.
Dual diaphragm design incorporates a primary six-blade diaphragm to control exposure and to introduce the desired amount of swirly out-of-focus in the image, with larger apertures producing the smallest in-focus area and most swirl and smaller apertures producing a larger in-focus area with minimal swirl. A secondary eight-blade diaphragm can be adjusted using the bronze effect slider on the side of the lens barrel, and is used to control the amount of vignetting as well as the quality of the bokeh in the out-of-focus areas of the image. When wide open, the swirl quality will be softer and when closed down, there will be greater detail in the swirl and more vignetting will be apparent. Lensbaby Twist 60 Optic with Straight Body for Canon EF
Draw attention to your subject by creating a smooth subtle swirl to your edges with the Lensbaby Twist 60 Optic with Straight Body. This optic is compatible with the Optic Swap System and performs best when used with the included straight body. This full-frame 60mm f/2.5 lens features an internal 12-blade diaphragm for smooth out-of-focus areas. You can manually change the aperture from f/2.5 to f/22 utilizing the dial on the front of the lens and you can manually focus on subjects as close as 18″.
When shooting at a wider aperture, the Twist 60’s swirled effect places more emphasis on your centered subject in full focus. As you stop down, the center area gets larger allowing you to bring more of your image into exact focus. The Twist 60 offers 46mm front threads for any filters you would like to use to further enhance your image.
The Twist 60 works best and is recommended for use with full frame cameras. Much of the swirled blur gets lost when using the optic with an APS-C sensor.
