ZY Optics has announced its new Mitakon 200mm f/4 1x Macro Lens. This was designed to be a telephoto macro lens with 1x magnification. The company states that the lens offers the best of both worlds as you can use it for close macro shots or as a 200mm telephoto prime lens.
The Mitakon 200mm F/4 Macro is a manual focus lens.
Its optical design consists of 11 elements in seven groups. There are three Extraordinary Dispersion (ED) lenses, three ultra-high index elements, and a single extra-high transmission lens. There are also 9 aperture blades. ZY Optics states that this combination helps to eliminate chromatic aberration.
The Mitakon 200mm F/4 offers a minimum focusing distance of 48cm /1.7′ which is ok for a 200mm macro lens.
The lens weighs in at 2.86lbs / 1.3kg and it features a 67mm front filter thread.
