Korean battery company GENTREE was showing a range of new batteries at Cine Gear 2023, including their new BEAST B-mount batteries for the ARRI ALEXA 35. Please be respectful of our interviewee’s English as he is not a native speaker.
The BEAST B-mount batteries are native 28.8V batteries that are available in the following capacities:
- 160Wh
- 290Wh
- 390Wh
They are shock and short-proof and they feature quite a few outputs:
- 2x D-tap
- 2x USB-C PD 60W
It is good to see battery companies putting USB-C PD outputs on their products. This enables you to charge up laptops and other equipment from the battery which is always handy.
The GENTREE batteries are the only batteries on the market that have U.S Military standard drop testing ratings.
GENTREE also makes a wide array of other batteries in V-mount and AB Gold mount, including the 26A MONSTER series which can be used to run high-power draw lights remotely.
All of GENTREE’s batteries utilize Samsung cells.
The 28V MONSTER series is a good solution for powering LED lights like the ARRI Skypanel S60, S120, Orbiter, Aputure 600D, Creamsource Vortex8, FiilexLED Q5,Q8, Nanlite Forza, etc.
The MONSTER G-B100 14.4V, 390Wh Li-Ion Battery from GENTREE provides power for cinema cameras and high-power draw LED lights.
