FUJIFILM has unveiled its new X-S20 mirrorless hybrid. It features a 26.1MP APS-C X-Trans BSI CMOS 4 Sensor and has the ability to internally record 6.2K at 30 fp.

The FUJIFILM X-S20 was designed for hybrid content creators looking for a lightweight, affordable, and fully-featured camera. It weighs in at 1.1 lb / 491 g and it has physical dimensions of 127.7mm × 85.1mm × 65.4mm.
It builds on the success of the X-S10, and it gets a new X-Processor 5, improved in-camera stabilization, and a Vlog Mode.
Just like the X-S10 it uses the exact same APS-C format 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor featuring a back-illuminated design. According to FUJIFILM, it features a unique filter array that controls moiré and false colors. The back-illuminated design works to enhance image quality while minimizing noise
As I already mentioned, it is also the first X-S series camera to feature an X-Processor 5 imaging engine. FUJIFILM claims that this results in quicker, more responsive AF, as well as faster still and video processing.
The X-Processor 5 features subject-detection AF that is built using Deep-Learning AI Technology. In addition to providing good AF tracking and detection for human faces and eyes, the X-S20 can now also automatically detect and track a broad range of subjects, which include animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones.
The X-S20 incorporates an improved auto-focus prediction algorithm, enabling stable focusing even when recording continuously moving subjects. Auto-focus improvements are most notable in Zone AF and tricky low-contrast situations
The X-S20 has a larger grip so it should be more comfortable to hold. It also features five-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) that is capable of up to seven stops of compensation, which is a one-stop improvement over the X-S10.
The new Vlog option on the mode dial was designed for users who just want a simple mode that simplifies image capture. A 3.5mm can be used to input a microphone and the TG-BT1 Grip offers hands-free control.
The X-S20’s battery capacity has increased by more than two folds from 325 to 750 frames compared to the X-S10.
Video Recording
The X-S20 can record 6.2K/30p, 4K/60p, and 1080/240p 4:2:2 10-bit internally. You can also combine the X-S20 with an ATOMOS HDMI monitor recorder to record RAW video output as 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW at resolutions up to 6.2K, 29.97fps. Combined with Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12G, RAW video output from the camera can be recorded as Blackmagic RAW at resolutions up to 6.2K, 29.97fps.
The X-S20 also supports the FAN-001 Cooling Fan, which can be fitted to the camera’s rear without additional cables to extend continuous video recording time.
19 Film Simulation modes inside of X-S20 replicate the analog look of the classic photographic film stocks developed by Fujifilm for over 85 years. Reproduce the classic colors and tones that Fujifilm is known for.
4K streaming is also available.
