Laowa has announced its new Argus 28mm f/1.2 FF lens. This is the latest offering in the Argus Ultra-fast Aperture Series.
Other lenses in the Argus series include the 25mm, 33mm, 35mm, and 45mm f/0.95. Laowa seems to be making all of the focal lengths very close to each other and it will be interesting to see if they end up making anything longer than a 45mm.
The Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 FF is being billed as a modern take on the classic and versatile 28mm focal length. It is claimed to render impressive sharpness and optical performance even when used wide-open.
The lens features a 62mm filter thread and it weighs in at 562g / 19.82 oz.
The lens is available in Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and L mounts.
The Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 FF features a 13-blade aperture and the optical design features 13 elements in 7 groups, including 2 UHR and 2 ED pieces of glass.
For video shooters, there is Aperture Ring Click Switch Mechanism that allows you to choose whether to have a clicked or silent aperture ring.
