Frame Set is now out of Beta and the full version is available to use. Frame Set is a website that allows filmmakers to search more than 100,000+ frames from thousands of commercials with one click.
Why was Frame Set Created?
Frame Set was created to help commercial filmmakers more easily find inspiration for their projects. Frame Set allows filmmakers to find inspiration by searching 116,454 frames from over 6,474 commercials, with thousands more commercial frames being added every month.
Commercial filmmakers from renowned agencies such as Pretty Bird, Biscuit Filmworks, Caviar, Conteur, Vevo, and Caravan have relied on Frame Set for inspiration. Their members use Frame Set to help develop storyboards, treatments, lookbooks, and other essential pre-production materials.
What can you do with Frame Set?
You can search for whatever you’d like, however, you’d like. Whether you’re looking for something specific, such as looking through a circular window, or something more abstract, such as frames that feel like an Ansel Adams photograph you can do it.
When searching for inspiration, a simple text search may not accurately capture the frames you’re looking for. So Frame Set’s similarity search feature allows you to find similar frames, based on any frame you’re interested in.
You can also narrow your search with filmmaking-specific filters, including aspect ratio, saturation, contrast, temperature, shot type, time of day, and more. This allows you to add filters to existing searches to find specific frames.
Frame Set also gives you the ability to see frames with specific colors, from basic primary colors to exact HEX codes. You can add colors to filter any search you’d like.
If you are after frames from commercial directors, cinematographers, and other key roles you can explore specific credits visually by seeing the frames they created.
You can also search for images created by specific cameras and lenses from any movie frame. This feature will also be available for commercials and music videos in Spring 2023.
Once you find the frames you want you can organize them by creating both public and private Sets. Sets allow you to easily save your favorite frames to one folder. You can also share the Sets with others, giving them the same access you have, or restricting them to only view the Set.
What does it cost?
Frame Set is free to search up to 10 times a day. If you’d like to upgrade, there is a Pro membership that allows you to search in 4K/HD quality as much as you’d like, and create 25 private sets to save frames. The Pro membership is $15.99 USD a month or $131.88 USD a year.
