DJI has announced the Mini 2 SE. It is being touted as an affordable, reliable, and easy-to-use entry-level drone.
The DJI Mini 2 SE is a lightweight, palm-sized camera drone that weighs less than 249 grams. This not only makes it very portable but also regulation-friendly and exempt from drone regulations in several parts of the world.

The drone utilizes a 1/2.3-inch CMOS camera sensor and it is able to capture 2.7K video and 12MP photos.
The Mini 2 SE can shoot in the following resolutions and frame rates:
- 2.7K:2720×1530 24/25/30p
- FHD:1920×1080 24/25/30/48/50/60p
The max. bitrate is 40 Mbps.
The Mini 2 SE supports up to 10 km of HD video transmission and it has a maximum flight time of 31 minutes. The drone features the usual array of intelligent features, including QuickShots and Panorama.
The camera enables 4X digital zoom allowing you to transition between shots of varying distances and compositions when shooting HD videos.
The DJI Mini 2 SE does not support obstacle sensing. DJI recommends that beginners use DJI Mini 2 SE with the 360° Propeller Guard to protect the propellers fully and improve flight safety.
The Mini 2 SE doesn’t seem to be a massive upgrade over the original Mini SE that was announced back in August 2021. It captures the same resolutions and framerates and it utilizes the same-sized sensor. Yes, it has a greater operating range, but the flight time remains the same.

As a comparison, the original DJI Mini SE retailed for $299 USD.
