SWIT has announced the MINO-S140 140Wh Pocket V-mount Battery which is a small-sized, lightweight, flight-safe solution for anybody running V-lock batteries.
The MINO-S140 consists of 8 high capacity cells, with 140Wh/9.7Ah high capacity, and support for a 150W/12A constant high load output which makes it suitable for powering high power draw cameras and some lights.
The battery weighs 713g / 1.75 lb and it has physical dimensions of 105×79×55.5mm. It has been made so that the size nicely compliments the RED V-RAPTOR.
The battery has a D-tap 150W/12A high load (Support charging input), a USB-A 5V/2A output, and a USB-C input/output which I will talk about in a minute.
The MINO-S140 also features a 65W USB-C socket so you can use it to charge accessories, tablets, laptops, and other devices.
You can also use that same USB-C as a 48W (PD 20V 2.4A) input so you can charge the battery from empty to full in around 3.5 hours. Being able to charge the battery via USB-C means that you don’t necessarily have to carry around a V-lock charger.
Key features
- 140Wh/9.7Ah high capacity
- 150W/12A constant high load
- 1x D-tap output & charging input
- 1x USB-A 5V/2A output
- 1x USB-C 48W input & 65W output
- 4-step LED power indicator
- Power info for both Sony & RED
- Multiple circuit protections
- Wire-Free Internal Tech
The battery offers 43% more capacity than the SWIT 98Wh Pocket V-mount battery. 140Wh is a good capacity because as I already mentioned, it still stays within the limits of what is flight safe for taking on airplanes.
The MINO-S140 utilizes Wire-Free internal tech. All the cells, D-tap, USB-A, USB-C, and power indicator devices are directly soldered onto PCB, so there are no connecting wires. This is done to reduce internal resistance and to make the circuit stable, safe, and reliable.
Price & Availability
The SWIT MINO-S140 retails for $349 USD and it is now available to pre-order.
Competition
There are very few batteries that come with USB-C in this size and capacity. The only ones that I can think of off the top of my head are the Fxlion Nano THREE Ultracompact V-Mount Battery (150Wh) $399 USD and the Kinefinity KineBAT 150 V-Mount Battery (145Wh) $399 USD.
Other competition comes in the form of batteries like the BLUESHAPE GRANITE MINI 14.4V 140Wh V-Mount Li-Ion Battery ($497 USD), and the Anton Bauer Titon Micro 150 V-Mount Lithium-Ion Battery ($437 USD). Both these batteries are more expensive and neither of them features a USB-C input/output.
