Movmax has announced its new N2 Arm Mini car mounting solution. The N2 Arm uses an adjustable shock absorption system that lets you dial in the amount of pressure from 0-140 PSI depending on your camera load.
The new Movmax system has a payload capacity of 6.6kg which is reasonably decent. It has been designed specifically to be used with the DJI RS2 and a smaller-sized digital cinema camera package.
Most of the vertical vibration is dealt with by the TCA system and the large arm.
The horizontal dampening head features a Star-shaped vibration isolator that consists of three hydraulic cylinders that all work independently to help correct horizontal shake.
An additional suspension dampening system that is made out of silicon rubber is designed to help minimize high-frequency shake.
The N2 Arm Mini has been designed so that it can be mounted in various different places on a vehicle depending on the type of shot you need to create.
Above you can see a video showing various installation techniques.
What is interesting is that Movmax has actually licensed the design from Tilta for their Hydra Alien and the base mount with the suction caps is actually co-branded.
The N2 Mini Arm is also compatible with all of the Vaxis wireless video products.
The system also features multiple different arm bracket connectors which allow you to mount the system on tubing as well.
What do you get?
Movmax is offering two differnt kits. One is a fully-featured Pro Kit which costs $3,680 USD and the other is a Standard Kit which costs $2580 USD.
As with any car mounting system, always remember that safety comes first. Despite what they might show in promotional videos you should always make sure that it is additionally secured with straps and you should never just rely on suction cups. Also, don’t attempt to use systems like these on public roads without the proper authorization.
