Sony has released a new firmware update for the ZV-1 that enables direct output over USB to a PC or compatible smartphone.
It uses the UVC/UAC protocol which makes the camera appear as a standard video source like a webcam, making it easy to set up in live streaming apps, video conferencing & more.
The great thing about camera manufacturers enabling UVC/UAC support is that you only need a USB cable. You don’t need to use a HDMI capture device and additional software to inject the feed into other applications. They just appear as an option in the video source like a webcam.
Sony also mentions that this capability will also be added to additional compatible cameras in the future.
