Insta360 has released a new update for the ONE R that adds a number of new features and fixes.
Insta360 is headlining a few key features in the update.
PureShot
Essentially an automated HDR mode that captures multiple shots that are combined with auto-exposure bracketing to retain highlights while also capturing shadow detail with less noise.
The ONE R now captures at a higher bitrate in certain shooting modes, improving video quality with fewer compression artefacts.
A new Vivid Color Profile is now available for a faster turn around time, but if you plan to edit in post, you can still use the LOG profile for more latitude in post.
Aquavision
A feature that looks quite impressive is the new Aquavision mode.
Normally external filters are used to correct for the color balance underwater.
The Aquavision filter is applied in post using the Insta360 app.
Other updates include the ability to use the ONE R as a webcam, livestreaming capability in 360° and a faster MP4 workflow with an upcoming FCP X plugin.
