Atomos CEO Jeromy Young talks with Rick Macomber about their new $1295 Samurai Blade 10-bit HD-SDI recorder/monitor, scheduled to ship in May. It has a 5″ screen that does 1280×720 at 325DPI with one million pixels, and records to 2.5″ optical hard drives or SSD’s.
Young also tells us about how they worked with Canon to develop new 5D mkIII firmware that allows recording full-res files from the HDMI port.
