OMNI is an innovative alternative to shooting through handheld objects. It includes three magnetic Effect Wands that create a myriad of magical in-camera effects.
The OMNI Creative Filter System lets users shoot through prisms and other objects specifically engineered by Lensbaby to create compelling in-camera effects. The OMNI system contains three magnetic Effect Wands that distort the light as it enters the lens.
As the system uses magnets you can place the crystals anywhere on the included front lens ring. It has been designed to work with high-quality prime and zoom lenses.
We tried the system out at Interbee 2019 and they certainly work as advertised.
How do you use them?
Simply screw the Filter Ring onto your existing lens, using one of the Step Up/Down Rings to fit your lens’s filter thread size, if needed. Then, attach one or more Effect Wands to the Magnetic Mounts, with or without an arm. To adjust, slide around a metal track on the Filter Ring. Move, twist and rotate the Effect Wand to change the way the light affects your image.
Effect Wands
Crystal Seahorse – With its multitude of angles, the uniquely shaped Crystal Seahorse offers endless possibilities for breathtaking flare, brilliant light direction, and radiant reflections.
Stretch Glass – The large surface area of the Stretch Glass allows you to create bright stretches and streaks of light across an image. Shoot through the flat and curved sides, or at an angle, to achieve different effects.
Rainbow Film – The Rainbow Film is a unique diffraction film that creates beaming reflective rainbows across an image in any direction, offset from a bright light source.
Compatibility
OMNI is designed to fit most prime and zoom lenses on the market, both auto and manual focus. It is also compatible with Lensbaby Velvet 56, Velvet 85, and Burnside 35 lenses only. It is available in Small (fits lens thread sizes 49mm, 52mm, 55mm and 58mm) and Large (fits lens thread sizes 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, & 82mm) versions. The included step-up/step down rings allow you to mount the OMNI creative Filter System on a range of different sized lenses. When purchasing, make sure you know the lens thread size of the lens or lenses you’ll use with OMNI.
