The Optica Magnus Xpander’s are designed for digital cinema cameras and have been optimized to work with both vintage and modern-day zooms.
With more and more full frame and VistaVision cameras emerging, there is a real shortage of zooms available that can cover these large sensors. By using expanders, cinematographers can utilize existing zooms that are already in circulation.
The Xpanders are a good match for the 24-290mm Angenieux Optimo and the Angenieux Optimo 17-80mm. They will also perform well on the Angenieux HR 25-250mm and the Angenieux 17-102mm.
The Xpander’s also provide new life to the Classic Cooke zooms like the Cooke Varotal 25-250mm and the Cooke 20-100mm, 18-100mm and the 20-60mm.
This provides the option of matching zooms with the character of classic prime lenses.
A special series of the Xpander’s are also available that will work with the Fujinon 75-400mm, 18-85mm, and 24 –180mm Premiere zoom lenses.
Anamorphic 2x Angineux/Cooke
This anamorphic 2x adapter will convert Angenieux and Cooke zoom lenses into a 2x anamorphic lens. It is optimized for use with the Angenieux Optimo 24-290mm, but it will also work on the Angenieux HR 25-250, Angenieux 17-120, Cooke Varotals 20-60, 18-100, 20-100, and the 25-250mm. Using this adapter will result in a 1 stop loss of light.
Anamorphic 2x Fujinon
This anamorphic 2x adapter will convert Fujinon Premiere lenses to a 2x anamorphic lens. It is optimized for the Fujinon Premiere lenses: 24-180mm, 18-85mm and 75-400 mm. There is a 1 stop loss of light when using this adapter
Xpander Academy to Super 35
This Xpander is optimized to work with the 25-250mm Angenieux HR, the Cooke 18-100mm, Cooke 20-100mm, and the Cooke 25-250mm. Light loss is just 0.3 (1/3) stops.
It is also available for the 17-80mm Angenieux Optimo and Fujinon Premiere lenses 24-180mm, 18– 85mm, and 75-400 mm.
Xpander Super35 to S35 Opengate
This Xpander is optimized to work with the Angenieux Optimo 24-290 mm. The Stop loss is 0.3 (1/3) stops.
It is also available for the 17-80mm Angenieux Optimo and Fujinon Premiere lenses: 24-180mm, 18-85mm, and 75-400mm.
Xpander Super 35 to Full Frame Netflix Format
This Xpander is optimized to work with the Angenieux Optimo 24-290 mm. The stop loss is 0.65 (2/3) stops.
The adapter is also available for 17-80mm Angenieux Optimo and Fujinon Premiere lenses: 24-180mm, 18-85mm, and 75-400 mm.
Xpander Super 35 to Full Frame
This Xpander is optimized to work with the Angenieux Optimo 24-290 mm. The stop loss is 1.5 (1 1/2) stops.
It is also available for 17-80mm Angenieux Optimo and Fujinon Premiere lenses: 24-180mm, 18-85mm, and 75-400 mm.
Fujinon Academy to S35 Opengate
This Xpander is optimized to work with the Fujinon Premiere lenses: 24-180, 18-85 and 75-400 mm. The stop loss is 0.5 (1/2) stops.
Fujinon Academy to Opengate
