Hollyland has announced its new LARK MAX 2 and LARK A1 wireless microphones.

The LARK MAX 2 looks to be a big upgrade over the original LARK MAX, with low-latency wireless monitoring, 32-bit float recording, timecode support, and AI-driven noise cancellation.
We first saw a prototype of the LARK MAX 2 shown at NAB 2025. Above, you can see our interview from the show.
LARK MAX 2

The LARK MAX 2 has features such as low-latency wireless monitoring, 32-bit float recording, AI-driven noise cancellation, a hover-clip design, and excimer Nano-coating.

The LARK MAX 2’s low-latency wireless audio monitoring capability utilizes 2.4GHz frequency hopping anti-interference technology. This is claimed to ensure stable and crystal-clear audio with an ultra-low latency of just 20ms (TX to RX). With the LARK MAX 2 headphones, you can wirelessly monitor audio with your phone through Bluetooth, or you can use them with the RX unit that attaches to a camera, to send audio that you can monitor (this is not done through Bluetooth and will have less delay).

If you happen to own a Sony camera, you can use the included Hollyland hot shoe connector that attaches to the RX unit, which will pass audio directly into the camera without needing any cables.

The LARK MAX 2 also features broadcast-grade lossless audio quality with built-in 32-bit float recording and full-link processing. Users can record for up to 14 hours.

AI noise reduction technology is said to effectively eliminate unwanted sounds such as wind noise, traffic, and room reverb with a distortion level of less than 1%. This process involves collecting a diverse range of noise sources, which are then analyzed by AI algorithms to identify. The noise reduction depth is finely adjustable, allowing for levels of up to 25dB without the need for post-processing.

The LARK MAX 2 features a built-in frame-level timecode system that synchronizes video and audio recordings through both 3.5mm and UAC outputs.
Here is how the timecode works:
Frame-Level Synchronization: The LARK MAX 2 generates a timecode signal that aligns audio recordings with video footage at the frame level, ensuring precise synchronization.
Output Options: Timecode can be transmitted through both the 3.5mm TRS analog output and the USB-C UAC digital output, providing flexibility for various recording setups.
Post-Production Efficiency: By embedding timecode directly into the audio signal, the system simplifies the process of aligning audio and video tracks during editing, reducing the need for manual synchronization.
Compatibility: The timecode feature is compatible with a wide range of devices, including cameras and smartphones, enhancing its versatility in different production environments.

You can buy the LARK MAX 2 Combo 4-Person Version, which allows you to use 4 Transmitters and 1 Receiver, which is very handy.

The battery life is claimed to be up to 36 hours, and the operating range is 35m / 115ft.

The LARK MAX 2 is made from excimer nano-coated skin-friendly material, which is claimed to minimize discomfort during long use.

Its hover-clip mechanism allows for easy clothing attachment. The backclip design conceals the device. Additionally, the one-button gain dynamic adjustment simplifies audio setup, automatically adapting output gain based on volume.

The LARK MAX 2 is available for the following prices:
- LARK MAX 2 Combo 4-Person Version (Space Gray, with Camera RX + USB-C RX): $319 USD
- LARK MAX 2 Ultimate Combo (Space Gray, with OWS Monitor Earphone + Camera RX + USB-C RX): $279 USD
- LARK MAX 2 Combo (Space Gray, with Camera RX + USB-C RX): $249 USD
- LARK MAX 2 Solo (Space Gray, with Camera RX): $169 USD

LARK A1
The LARK A1 wireless microphone can deliver 48kHz/24-bit high-fidelity audio quality with three-level intelligent noise cancellation.

This microphone is being targeted at vloggers, streamers, and content creators who seek clear audio without the hassle of complex settings.

The LARK A1 has a high sound pressure level of 120dB SPL, and an intelligent auto-limit feature balances volume levels to maintain stable, distortion-free audio.

The microphone offers customizable audio with adjustable EQ (balance, low and bright) and reverb (small, medium, or large).
The LARK A1 also features a 6-level gain control and flexible noise cancellation system. According to Hollyland, the Lark A1 effectively filters out ambient noise, including wind, traffic, honking, air conditioning hum, and room reverberation. The three levels of noise reduction (weak, medium and strong) adapt to different environments while maintaining a natural and clear voice.
The claimed operating range is 200m / 656ft, and it weighs just 8g / 0.82 oz. With a single charge in the TX mode, the wireless microphone can work up to 6.5 hours with noise cancellation on and 9 hours without.

The LARK A1 is available for the following prices:
