
Blackout, the lighting control app used on sets across film, broadcast, and live events, has announced new subscription plans starting at $15 USD / month.
Complex lighting control apps can be expensive, and this can put a lot of people off. Blackout wants to make it easier for creatives at any level to access pro-grade lighting tools without a big upfront investment. The perpetual license is still available for those ready for a full upgrade.

The plans include:
- 1U Plan: $15/month or $162/year
Unlocks one universe of output via Art-Net, sACN, or BLE
- 4U Plan: $25/month or $270/year
Unlocks four universes of output via Art-Net, sACN, or BLE
- 256U Plan: $40/month or $432/year
Unlocks up to 256 universes of output
Add-on features are also available and can be added to any subscription:
- MIDI Output: $5/month
LivePlot + Max Input Routing: $5/month
These subscriptions were designed to provide more affordable and scalable options for users who want to experiment with new workflows or build out portable lighting setups.

As a reference, the perpetual Blackout license starts at $600 USD for the Basic Version.
