It utilizes a proprietary high-sensitivity S35 BSI global shutter sensor that is not made by Sony.

IMG 9289

The Spark takes proprietary SSD drives with capacities of up to 2.4TB, so it can record for long periods of time. Currently, it records to a proprietary RAW format (.pxbl) and you need to use a Mac/PC app to convert the footage to Cinema DNG sequences; however, once it launches, it will be able to record in ProRes flavors as well.

You can control the camera via the integrated 3.5″ touchscreen or through an app.

The camera body is made out of high-strength aluminum alloy, and it can be powered via a V-mount battery or through a DC input.

IMG 9282

There is a 12G-SDI port that can output up to 4K 60p, a Sync port, HDMI, EXT port, DC battery Input, and a USB-C.

The camera will be available with either a locking Sony E-mount or PL mount. The Sony E mount does not support electronic communication, so there is no AF, stabilization, etc.

Falcam Move LightGo

IMG 8898

Falcam’s new Move LightGo was designed for anyone who wants to streamline their lighting setup process and make it easier to get the ideal position for their lights.

This looks like a good solution for certain lighting applications and small-sized studios, where you need to reposition lights that are hard to reach or are in fixed positions.

The Bowens S mount slides onto a NATO rail, so there is no reason why you couldn’t also use that NATO rail to mount other devices apart from lights. This opens up a lot of possibilities as you could mount cameras and other lighting modifiers. If you didn’t want to mount your light to the Bowens adapter, you could just come up with a solution to attach it directly to the NATO rail.

Go 5 1

If you do attach a light via the Bowens mount, it will be slightly offset by an inch or so. This will mean that there will be a very slight decrease in the beam angle, but Falcam told me that it was minimal. Just how well it works with Fresnels and other optical attachments remains to be seen.

We first saw a prototype of this device at IBC 2024. Above you can see our interview from the show.

Screenshot 2025 04 04 at 3 55 31

The Move LightGo offers 170° of tilt and 450° panning, and it allows you to control the position of your light via the included wired remote, the mobile app, or a separately available wireless remote.

The whole concept is to make it easier for you to adjust your lights’ position even when it is out of reach.

go

A Bowens mount makes it widely compatible with lights up to 13.2 lb / 6kg. The Move LightGo itself weighs 1.68kg / 3.7 lb.

  • Quick release bayonet design makes it easy and fast to setup, breakdown, or swap lights
  • ¼”-20 threaded hole for attaching additional equipment or accessories
  • Auto-lock prevents movement when power is lost or removed
  • Dual locking knobs for secure attachment to light stands
  • Wired remote with four memory buttons
  • Bluetooth app control

You can power the Move LightGo in multiple ways, including from any USB-C 45W+ PD power device, AC power, a V-mount battery with a USB-C out, etc.

Falcam is working on making larger versions that will be able to handle heavier fixtures and smaller-sized versions for smaller lights.

Also in development is an auto-rising light stand that would work well with the Move LightGo.

Pricing & Availability

The Falcam Move LightGo is now available to purchase for $249 USD.

Above you can see some of the accessories that are available.

I’m a big fan of USBCPD charging as it makes charging a single battery convenient, especially since we all have mobile devices charging via USB-C anyway. The trick is having a PD-compatible adapter. With the magnetic snap-charge technology, you can charge several at once with the stacking feature.
