Fujifilm has announced several feature updates for the Fujifilm GFX ETERNA Cinema Camera.
The camera will now have a Variable Electronic ND Filter with a range of ND0.6 – ND2.1 with 1/10th increments.
An interesting update is the addition of an internal NP-W235 battery compatibility in addition to external power support. The battery is the same version found in the GFX camera. This will allow the user to hot swap the battery that the is mounted on the back with a third party battery plate. The internal battery will stay charged by using the external battery. The NP-W235 battery is not designed to power the camera for us only to make hot swapping possible.
The third update is the internal memory card support will be CF Express Type B and SD media. The main media card will be CF Express Type B. No info was released on what the SD Card will support at this time.
The GFX ETERNA is now compatible with the TASCAM XLR Microphone Adapter Handle Accessory, giving the camera two XLR inputs. It currently has one 3.5mm input on the body.
Support is added for Adobe Frame.io Camera to Cloud. Utilize built-in network interfaces (WiFi or Ethernet) for internet connection to authenticate to a Frame.io project and upload files securely to central location for immediate accessibility.
The new updates are interesting, and there is still a lot we don’t know about the medium-format GFX ETERNA cinema camera. We will announce more updates soon.
