DZOFILM Releases the 18mm Arles Prime Full Frame Lens

DZOFILM today at NAB 2025 is showing the new member of the Arles Prime Full Frame Lens set. The 18mm Arles Prime Full Frame Lens.

The current set consists of eleven focal lengths, and the 18mm completes the set. The existing lenses in the series are:

IMG 1896
  • 14mm T1.9
  • 18mm T1.4
  • 21mm T1.4
  • 25mm T1.4
  • 35mm T1.4
  • 40mm T1.4
  • 50mm T1.4
  • 75mm T1.4
  • 100mm T1.4
  • 135mm T1.8
  • 180mm T2.4

They all cover full frame sensors and image circles up to 46.5mm. Most of the lenses feature a T1.4 aperture, except the 135mm which is a T1.8 and the 180mm which is a T2.4. Making anything wider than 25mm or longer than 100mm with a T1.4 aperture is very difficult, especially if you want to keep the size and weight to a minimum.

They share a common 95mm front diameter and an 86mm filter thread which means you could use screw-on filters such as variable NDs.

The aperture, and focus rings are all located in the exact same position which makes them easy to change out without having to re-position lens motors or re-balance a gimbal, etc.

Pricing and Availability

The new 18mm is still a prototype; however, release is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. The retail price will be approximately $2500 USD.
