Blackmagic Design has announced a Beta version of its Blackmagic Camera 9.5 Update that adds continuous, object tracking, and face tracking AF to the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K.
This will eventually be added to more cameras, but it will be initially beta tested on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K.
Grant Petty did a brief demonstration of the technology during the NAB 2025 live stream, and the new update looked like it performed pretty well. You can see it at around the 2 hour and 45 minute mark of the stream.
