DJI has dropped the price of the Ronin 4D by $1800, with a new price of $4,999.00. Is the low price permanent or for a short time? Not clear, but it is a significant savings.
Not only did the Ronin 4D get a price drop, but the Apple ProRes RAW license, which retailed for $979, is now $1. The RAW license is compatible with the DJI Ronin 4D, Zenmuse X9-8K Gimbal Camera, and Zenmuse X9-6K Gimbal Camera. Why only $1? It could have to do with the agreement with Apple that they won’t give it away for free, so $1 it is. This is speculation on my part.

The price drop for the 6K version of the Ronin 4D is $4,999, a $1,800 decrease, and the Ronin 4D 8K version is $9,999, a $2,839 decrease.

With NAB starting this weekend, it begs to ask what is coming next from DJI and the future of the Ronin 4D. Will a new model be announced, or has it run its production lifecycle?
The Ronin 4D has some recent credits, such as the Netflix show Adolescence and Alex Garland’s Civil War. It’s clearly a capable camera system, and there really isn’t anything like it on the market today. Interesting times ahead.
