The X-tract 90° lens features a fixed 90° optical path, bending light at a right angle. Its 360° rotating ring enables precise horizontal adjustments, while the square front element with a PET silver-coated reflective layer is claimed to maximize light transmission.

The lens is designed for full-frame sensors and is compatible with S35 formats. It provides an equivalent 22-35mm T8 focal range when shooting in open gate on a camera like the ARRI ALEXA 35. Alexa 35 Open Gate mode.

The X-tract 90° lens’ parfocal design ensures focus remains sharp during zooming, enabling smooth transitions.

The lens has a 300° focus throw, 2.1x magnification ratio, and 6mm minimum focus distance.

The X-tract 90° lens weighs 1.09-1.13kg and measures 41.5-42.1cm in length. Its rear-heavy design is claimed to ensure better balance when used with tripods, sliders, stabilizers, or robotic arms, minimizing shake and simplifying focus and zoom adjustments.

There is industry standard M0.8 gear pitch on focus, zoom, and aperture rings, and the lens has an IP57 dustproof and waterproof rating.

The X-tract 90° lens incorporates 7 high-refractive index (HRI) and 6 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements to help minimize chromatic aberration, distortion, and focus breathing. According to DZOFILM, at 24mm, the lens reduces focus breathing to just 0.5% (compared to 39.2% in other probe primes) and achieves a relative illumination of 68.6%.

Pricing & Availability

The lens will start shipping from April 3, 2025, for $3,799 USD.
