Tilta has announced new Camera Cage options for the Canon C80. They were designed for enhanced protection and expanded mounting options, and the cage features a Cold Shoe Receiver, NATO Rail, multiple mounts, and a unique Side Plate with integrated button extensions.
You can use your original C80 Top Handle and they support rod-based accessories.
There are three different kits you can choose from:
- Camera Cage for Canon C80 Base Kit
- Camera Cage for Canon C80 Advanced Kit
- Camera Cage for Canon C80 Pro Kit – V Mount
Camera Cage for Canon C80 Base Kit ($89 USD)
This camera cage provides additional protection for the camera body while expanding mounting options for various accessories.
The Full Cage features a Cold Shoe Receiver, NATO Rail, Wrist Strap Holder, 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 Threads, both with Locating Points.
Unique to this cage is the Side Plate that features integrated button extensions for the camera body that provide tactile feedback and easy access.
The opposite Side Plate features specifically aligned mounting points that allow users to easily mount a Quick Release Plate and flip the camera into a vertical configuration.
The Top Plate is designed to allow unobstructed access to the original C80 Top Handle Mounting Point, making this cage an ideal option for users who intend to keep the original handle.
The cage also leaves the intake port and exhaust port for the fans unobstructed.
Camera Cage for Canon C80 Advanced Kit ($179 USD)
The Camera Cage for Canon C80 Advanced Kit builds on the Basic Kit by adding a Xeno Side Handle which utilizes a NATO connection to mount to the left side of the cage. Featuring an adjustable height of 40mm, users can dial in their preferred position, ensuring comfort when shooting handheld.
The Handle features non-slip silicone, which provides a textured grip that improves stability and features mounting points such as a Cold Shoe Receiver and a 1/4″-20 Thread with Locating Points for additional accessories.
This Kit also includes a 15mm LWS Baseplate which allows users to mount various rod-based accessories such as Follow Focus Systems or Matte Boxes.
The Baseplate is compatible with Tilta Standard Dovetails and can accommodate a wide range of quick-release plates through 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads on the bottom.
Camera Cage for Canon C80 Pro Kit – V Mount ($359 USD)
The Camera Cage for Canon C80 Pro Kit – V Mount builds on the Basic Kit and the Advanced Kit, by adding an ergonomic Wooden Handle which mounts via NATO Rail and provides additional comfort when operating or handling the camera. The Release Button on the side of the mount allows users to easily adjust the angle of the handle to achieve the perfect operating position as well as to re-position quickly when adjusting for different shots.
This Kit also includes a 15mm LWS Baseplate which allows users to mount various rod-based accessories such as Follow Focus Systems or Matte Boxes. The Baseplate is compatible with Tilta Standard Dovetails and can accommodate a wide range of quick-release plates through 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads on the bottom.
The included Battery Plate and Power Cable allow users to extend the operating time of the C80 and power accessories via a 60W PD USB-C Port, a P-Tap Port, and a 2-Pin Lemo connection. The Dual Rod Adapter makes this unit easy to integrate into systems that utilize 15mm LWS rods.
