The RATWORKS 15-19mm Bars aren’t new, but I thought some of our readers may be interested in them.
So what are they for?
Well, I am glad you asked. When using motors with 15mm rods you usually have to use insert collars as most motor mounts are natively made to accommodate 19mm rods. These insert collars can be fiddly and they can also be easy to lose.
The RATWORKS 15-19mm Bars offer an alternative to standard 15mm bars and eliminate the use of slip-inducing 15-19mm collars when mounting lens motors. This simple design turns lets you mount a 15mm rod, but then still enjoy the benefits of a 19mm rod.
They are available in two standard sizes:
- 3in of 15mm dia & 2in of 19mm diameter
- 3in of 15mm diameter & 4in of 19mm diameter
These are 3/8″ Female threaded on the 19mm end & bored out on the 15mm end to save weight. They are supplied hard black anodized, but you can pay extra and have them anodized in various colors if you want.

The RATWORKS 15-19mm Bars cost £40.00 ex VAT each so they are not particularly cheap!
