ARRI has released the ARRI Reference Tool ART 1.7.0 update that now supports Ensō Primes and Ensō Vintage Elements metadata, as well as the ALEXA 265 and ALEXA 35 Monochrome cameras.
The following features are included in the ART 1.7.0 release:
- Support for lens metadata of the Ensō Prime lenses and Ensō Vintage Elements.
- Support of ALEXA 265 MXF/ARRIRAW with its metadata-encoded manual filter sliders.
- Support of ALEXA 35 monochrome ARRIRAW material.
- Support of HDE compression in an ARRI Legacy MXF wrapper for ALEXA MINI LF / ALEXA MINI / AMIRA cameras
What I found interesting is that I didn’t know that ARRI had an ALEXA 35 Monochrome. ARRI rental has had monochrome versions of the ALEXA 65, ALEXA Mini LF, and ALEXA XT for the last few years. The ALEXA Monochrome cameras record black-and-white ARRIRAW with increased resolution, crisper blacks, and higher native ASA than regular ALEXAs. The rich, high-contrast monochrome images look similar to analog panchromatic film.
