Alt Cine has announced that they have finally finished their custom Blackmagic Cinema Camera Box Modification. The Eclipse was first shown in early 2024 as a working prototype. Since then, AltCine has completed a very limited number of units for early adopters and they’re now shipping.
As the units take a very long time to build and test, there won’t be any more in production for the time being. The company’s focus is now on the cinepi as they want to create their own cameras from scratch. The first 2 CinePi could debut as early as January 2025.

Who is AltCine?
Alternative Cinema Cameras is the brainchild of Cole & Simon.
Although they’re from different countries and different backgrounds they both have the same mindset towards cinematography & cameras and asked themselves similar questions like…..”How can we make it more affordable for us and for everyone else to enjoy!”
With Cole’s background working with companies such as Microsoft Research, Samsung and Panasonic and Simon’s background in custom electronics, Glass design, and 3d modeling, they formed Alt Cine to change the way people approach cinematography and make it accessible to not only professionals but hobbyists too.
