Panasonic has announced two entry-level mirrorless hybrid cameras, the LUMIX TZ99 and G97. The new LUMIX G97 and TZ99 offer a wide range of updated photo and video features.
LUMIX TZ99
The LUMIX TZ99 is a pocket-size travel camera, perfect for capturing life’s adventures on the go. Available in black or silver, the TZ99 will be available from February 2025 at an RRP of $477.99 USD.

Equipped with a 24-720mm LEICA DC lens, the LUMIX TZ99 offers 30x optical zoom and up to 60x with iZoom. It also features in-built 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S.+.
It can record 4K video at up to 30p and Full HD at up to 60p.

There is a tiltable 1,840k-dot touchscreen and USB Type-C charging. You can connect with built-in Bluetooth v5.0, plus a dedicated Send Image button for transfers to your smartphone.
LUMIX G97
The LUMIX G97 micro four thirds camera combines high-performance and simplicity. It is also available from February 2025, the G97 is offered as a body-only option (RRP £699) or with two kit variations: £799 with a 12-60mm lens or $847.99 USD with a 14-140mm lens.

The camera utilizes a 20.3MP CMOS sensor and a Venus Engine processor.
A Live View Composite feature is also included, providing the ability to combine multiple exposures in real time.
The LUMIX G97 has a 5-stop 5-axis Dual I.S.2 system and the ability to record 4K at up to 30p with no record time limitations. You can also record HD at up to 240p. There is a vertical video recording mode and Panasonic claims 12-stops of dynamic range when shooting in V-Log L. Additionally there are headphone and microphone jacks.
