Mid49 showed us the new Canon C400 cage at IBC 2024. The cage has a top plate that gives you many mounting options including a sliding top handle to get it in the best balanced position. The smart shoe is left open so you can add additional accessories including an audio module.
For the monitor they have a hidged mount that swivels. It also releases so you can move the monitor off the handle to a new viewfinder mount that is on the side of camera. The viewfinder mount is a friction knuckle with a NATO rail. There is also a side arm with several mounting points.
On the opposite side are break-out boxes for the mini XLR and the DIN connectors for timecode and genlock. The break out boxes and be moved into different positions on the rail.
To power the C400 they use the new DB-10 power distribution module. The Canon camera battery can be installed with the DB10 as it slides up and down. The DB10 is available in V-mount and Gold mount versions. The DB10 has multiple D-taps, 2-pin LEMO and 3-pin fisher and USB-C for power delivery.
