At IBC 2024 in Amsterdam, Falcam was showing a prototype of a motor that can move lights when they are placed up high or in out-of-reach places.
The prototype can hold light packages of up to around 6kg / 13.22 lb and it offers full control of tilt and 360-degree panning.
It can be controlled via a wired remote, or through an upcoming Bluetooth App.
The motor is powered via the light by utilizing an adapter cable that will be available in a multitude of versions. It essentially is a cable that goes between the light and the power cable that then runs a USB-C cable to the motor.
The version they had on display at their booth was for Bowens-S mount lights, but Falcam is working on other mounting versions for a wide array of lights.
Falcam hopes to have the product available by the end of the year. Pricing hasn’t been finalized, but I don’t think it will be too expensive.
